Abstract
This Professional Competency Work was framed within the project “Agrobiodiversity and traditional knowledge: linking seeds with schools for adaptation to climate change in Andean communities of Peru,” around the years 2018, 2019, and 2020, and aimed to analyze the contribution of an intercultural educational proposal on agrobiodiversity, agroecology, and traditional knowledge in generating innovative educational experiences in rural highland schools of Peru. The 3 schools analyzed from the regions of Huánuco and Apurímac had innovative experiences, incorporated and recorded in their annual plans or educative projects, published through formal or informal means, and verified on their institutional social networks, magazines, or management documents of the Educational Institution. The nature of the work is monographic of a non-experimental type, and the collection, systematization, and analysis of the information was based on a qualitative research methodology. The teacher training proposal in intercultural education managed to train 18 teachers over the 2-year course, who reached 510 child from high Andean rural schools per year. A total of 303 educative products created by the teachers were collected, and 6 innovative interlearning spaces were opened both inside and outside the school that addressed the topics proposed by the course, such as the Biodiversity Fair, the MuruRaymi Fair, and the Seed Farm (Huánuco), the Achievement Fair and the Agricultural Fair, and the School Radio (Apurímac). In conclusion, this work managed to provide a greater understanding of scientific knowledge through the educative proposal and of traditional knowledge through the wise men and women and teacher-farmers who were part of the process, thanks to the openness and interest of the teachers in including them in the educational processes at school
