Insectos asociados al molle (Schinus molle L.) en Lima

Abstract

Se llevaron a cabo evaluaciones semanales con el objetivo de saber la fluctuación e identificar la diversidad de insectos plaga y sus controladores presentes en árboles de Schinus molle, en cuatro sectores de Lima: UNALM, La Molina, Santa Anita y Ate. El período de monitoreo comprendió desde el 2 de mayo de 2024 hasta el 29 de mayo de 2025. A partir de las principales plagas registradas, se analizó su fluctuación poblacional. En cada zona se seleccionaron aleatoriamente 5 árboles, sumando un total de 20 árboles evaluados cada semana. Para cada árbol, se consideraron los cuatro puntos cardinales (norte, sur, este y oeste) y se dividieron en dos estratos: inferior (debajo de la mitad del árbol) y superior (por encima de la mitad del árbol). Además, se diferenciaron las zonas interior y exterior del follaje. Se utilizaron datos de variables hidrométricas, humedad relativa y temperatura media con el fin de analizar posibles relaciones entre estas condiciones ambientales y la abundancia de las principales plagas. Se observaron diferencias significativas en la abundancia de Calophya schini y Aleurodicus juleikae entre las zonas exterior e interior, así como entre los estratos superior e inferior, aunque no se detectaron diferencias significativas en cuanto a los puntos cardinales. En términos de abundancia, Calophya schini fue la especie predominante, con un total de 71,886 individuos (adultos e inmaduros), seguida por Aleurodicus juleikae con 406 adultos. Con base en el análisis de diversidad realizado mediante el software Biodiversity, se determinó que los sectores de Ate y UNALM presentaron la mayor similitud en composición de especies (78%), mientras que la menor similitud (14%) se dio entre Santa Anita y UNALM.

Weekly evaluations were carried out with the aim of understanding the population fluctuation and identifying the diversity of pest insects and their natural enemies present on Schinus molle trees in four areas of Lima: UNALM, La Molina, Santa Anita, and Ate. The monitoring period spanned from May 2, 2024, to May 29, 2025. Based on the main pests recorded, their population fluctuations were analyzed. In each area, five trees were randomly selected, totaling 20 trees evaluated each week. For each tree, the four cardinal directions (north, south, east, and west) were considered, and the canopy was divided into two strata: lower (below the midpoint of the tree) and upper (above the midpoint). In addition, the foliage was categorized into inner and outer zones. Data on hydrometric variables relative humidity and average temperature were used to analyze possible relationships between these environmental conditions and the abundance of the main pests. Significant differences in the abundance of Calophya schini and Aleurodicus juleikae were observed between the inner and outer zones, as well as between the upper and lower strata. However, no significant differences were found among the cardinal directions. In terms of abundance, Calophya schini was the predominant species, with a total of 71,886 individuals (both adults and immatures), followed by Aleurodicus juleikae with 406 adults. Based on the diversity analysis performed using the Biodiversity software, the highest similarity in species composition (78%) was found between the Ate and UNALM sectors, while the lowest similarity (14%) was observed between Santa Anita and UNALM.
