Abstract
The Botanical Garden at Las Leyendas Park is a place with great potential to serve as a place for visitors as well as a botanical educational setting. However the lack of knowledge of the Botanical Garden’s existence and the vandalism of some plant species were identified as major concerns. In order to mitigate these problems, an analysis of the components of interpretation has been conducted: relevant resources, diverse types of audience and the appropriate selection of interpretative media to integrate as part of an effective method of communication on regard to the importance of biodiversity conservation and quality improvement of visitor’s experience. The methodology is based on the proposal questions such as; Who is the audience and what is transmitted? What method of implementation will occur? Who will conducted and how would it be implemented? What is the cost and the time frame? How will it be evaluated and sustained? To determine there was an initial diagnosis, workshops with the Botanical Division staff, awareness surveys for visitors and potential visitors who attend the Botanical Garden, and finally the selection of species that are most relevant to propose the interpretive media for the Botanical Garden.
