Abstract
The research has been developed in the Grain Legumes and Oilseeds Program (PLGO) of the Universidad Agraria La Molina (UNALM) during the months of August to December 2019. The objective is to evaluate the dry grain yield of the 8 promising F8 lines of the pea cross 'Rondo' x 'Remate'. The trial was established under a completely randomized block design with 10 treatments and 3 replications. The quantitative variables evaluated were dry grain yield, plant height, 100 seed weight, number of branches per plant, number of pods per plant, number of grains per pod, number of locules per pod, pod length, pod width, first branch insertion, days to flowering, first branch insertion, grain/pod ratio, weight of 10 green pods, weight of 100 green grains, and the qualitative variables were grain color, texture and shape. The results have shown that lines L7, L4 and L6 obtained higher dry grain yields and exceeded the national average yield with 4.13, 4.10 and 3.37 t/ha, respectively. The lines that have been selected as promising are L4, L7 and L6 since they are related to the variables that have positively influenced dry grain yield such as: number of branches per plant, number of pods per plant, number of grains per pod, number of locules per pod, pod length and optimum quality characteristics.
