Caracterización fenotípica de 30 líneas S1 de tomate (Solanum lycopersicum Mill.) con fines de selección en La Molina

Abstract

El trabajo de investigación se llevó a cabo en el invernadero Súper Pepón del campo experimental del Huerto, ubicado en la Universidad Nacional Agraria la Molina. El objetivo fue caracterizar treinta líneas S1 de tomate con fines de selección fenotípica provenientes del cruce de un progenitor de tomate con crecimiento indeterminado tipo cherry de fruto morado y cuatro híbridos con crecimiento determinado y frutos rojos, pertenecientes al Programa de Investigación el Huerto de la UNALM. Se utilizaron 26 descriptores, de los cuales 17 fueron cualitativos y 9 fueron cuantitativos. No se encontraron diferencias significativas en los descriptores de Peso total de fruto por racimo, Peso total de fruto por planta, Sólidos Solubles, Acidez, pH. Se encontraron diferencias significativas en las variables de Peso del fruto, Longitud del fruto, Ancho del fruto, Número de Inflorescencias, Número de flores por inflorescencia y Rendimiento. Mediante el análisis de Correspondencias Múltiples (MCA) se identificaron agrupaciones dentro de las líneas evaluadas. Las líneas 41 y 109 mostraron características distintivas en los descriptores analizados, lo que sugiere su potencial para futuras selecciones. Asimismo, la línea 111 destacó por su homogeneidad de fruto, tamaño del fruto, número de inflorescencias y rendimiento, consolidándose como una opción promisoria dentro del estudio.

The research was conducted in the "Súper Pepón" greenhouse at the Huerto experimental field, located at the National Agrarian University La Molina (UNALM). The objective was to characterize thirty S1 tomato lines for phenotypic selection purposes, derived from a cross between an indeterminate-growth cherry-type purple-fruited tomato parent and four hybrids with determinate growth and red fruits, all belonging to the Huerto Research Program at UNALM. A total of 26 descriptors were used, of which 17 were qualitative and 9 quantitative. No significant differences were found in the descriptors total fruit weight per cluster, total fruit weight per plant, soluble solids, acidity, and pH. Significant differences were observed in fruit weight, fruit length, fruit width, number of inflorescences, number of flowers per inflorescence, and yield. Through Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA), groupings within the evaluated lines were identified. Lines 41 and 109 showed distinctive characteristics in the analyzed descriptors, suggesting their potential for future selection. Likewise, line 111 stood out for its fruit uniformity, fruit size, number of inflorescences, and yield, positioning it as a promising option within the study.
