Parámetros genéticos de los valores cielab del vellón en alpaca de la estación científica Pacomarca, Puno

Abstract

El vellón de color de la alpaca, es apreciado por la industria textil por su calidad, exclusividad y menor huella ambiental, Sobre todo en mercados internacionales; siendo importante diferenciar sus diversos colores y grados de intensidad, así como sus posibilidades de respuesta a la selección. Por ello, los objetivos específicos del presente trabajo de investigación fueron: a) determinar valores cuantitativos del color de vellón en el espacio de color CIELAB y b) estimar los parámetros genéticos para el color de vellón en alpacas Huacaya de la Estación Científica Pacomarca. Se colectaron, 11177 muestras de vellón del costillar medio de 4218 alpacas entre los años 2018 y 2023, agrupadas en 9 categorías de color: blanco (B), light fawn intensidad X, Y y Z (LFX, LFY, LFZ), café claro (CC), café oscuro marrón (COM), café oscuro negro (CON), negro (N) y gris (G). Las cuales fueron lavadas, secadas a temperatura ambiente y cuantificadas con el equipo Chroma Meter CR-210 (Konica Minolta) en el espacio CIELAB: luminosidad (L*), coordenada verde/rojo (a*), coordenada azul/amarillo (b*), chroma (C*ab) y tonalidad (h*ab), Se utilizó el pedigrí de 15360 alpacas registradas en la base de datos PacoPro V.5.1 de la Estación Científica Pacomarca. Para el análisis de varianza se consideró el color de vellón como efecto fijo y sé estimaron los componentes de varianza vía REML bajo un modelo animal multicarácter. Los promedios de los valores L*, a*. b*, C*ab y h*ab en las muestras del color de vellón fueron de: 88.63±2.96 a 17.25±2.96; 9.23±0.85 a -0.75±0.57; 18.08±2.02 a -0.12±0.77; 20.32 ±1.91 a 0.88±0.76; 1.19±0.27 a -1.20±0.78 respectivamente. Las heredabilidades para L*, a*, b*, C*ab y h*ab fueron 0.94±0.005, 0.72±0.017, 0.72±0.015, 0.72± 0.015 y 0.41±0.017, respectivamente. Las correlaciones genéticas fueron altas entre a* con b*, a* con C*ab, a* con h*ab, b* con C*ab, b* con h*ab, moderadas positivas entre L* con b*, L* con C*ab y moderadas negativas para L* con a*, L* con h*ab. Los resultados muestran que existe variación en los valores CIELAB entre y dentro de la clasificación categórica del color de vellón de alpaca con heredabilidades altas.

The textile industry values the fleece of alpaca for its quality, exclusivity and lower environmental footprint, particularly in international markets. It is therefore, it is important to distinguish between its various colors and degrees of intensity, as well as how it may respond to selection. For this reason, the specific objectives of this research were to determine the quantitative values of fleece color in the CIELAB color space and to estimate the genetic parameters of fleece color in Huacaya alpacas from the Pacomarca Scientific Station. From 2018 to 2023, a total of 11,177 fleece samples were collected from the mid-side of 4,218 alpacas and grouped into nine color categories: white (B), light fawn (X, Y, and Z), light brown (CC), medium brown (COM), dark brown-black (CON), black (N), and gray (G). The samples were then washed and air dried at room temperature before being quantified using a Chroma Meter CR-210 (Konica Minolta) in the CIELAB color space. The following parameters were measured: lightness (L*), green/red (a*) and blue/yellow (b*) coordinates, chroma (C*ab), and hue (h*ab). The pedigree data of 15,360 alpacas registered in the PacoPro V.5.1 database at the Pacomarca Scientific Station were used. Fleece color was considered a fixed effect for the analysis of variance (p<0.05). We estimated variance components via REML under a multi trait animal model. The average L*, a*, b*, C*ab, and h*ab values for the fleece color samples were: 88.63 ± 2.96 to 17.25 ± 2.96; 9.23 ± 0.85 to -0.75 ± 0.57; 18.08 ± 2.02 to -0.12 ± 0.77; 20.32 ± 1.91 to 0.88 ± 0.76; and 1.19 ± 0.27 to -1.20 ± 0.78. Heritabilities for L*, a*, b*, C*ab, and h*ab were 0.94 ± 0.005, 0.72 ± 0.017, 0.72 ± 0.015, 0.72 ± 0.015, and 0.41 ± 0.017, respectively. The genetic correlations were high between a* and b*, a* and C*ab, and a* and h*ab; moderately positive between L* and b* and L* and C*ab; and moderately negative between L* and a* and L* and h*ab. These results demonstrate variation in CIELAB values within and between the categorical classification of alpaca fleece color, with high heritability.
