Abstract
This study analyzed the quality of water from the Huancabamba River used to irrigate blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum) crops, ensuring that it meets the physicochemical and microbiological parameters established to maintain the efficiency of the drip irrigation system. One of the main problems in this type of system was identified as the clogging of emitters, caused by the accumulation of suspended particles and the formation of chemical deposits. This decreases operating efficiency, increases maintenance costs, and ultimately negatively affects crop yield. To mitigate this problem, a water treatment system was evaluated that improved the quality of the water resource before it entered the irrigation system. The results showed that, after the treatment process, parameters such as pH, electrical conductivity (EC), and turbidity (NTU) remained within optimal values, ensuring the proper action of the chemicals used and the operation of the system components. Furthermore, treatment efficiency was found to exceed 80%, achieving a significant reduction in turbidity even during periods of flooding, without compromising irrigation performance or causing blockages, ensuring improved crop productivity and sustainability.
