Manejo del algodón híbrido Hazera HA-1432 bajo las condiciones del departamento de Lambayeque

Abstract
El presente trabajo de suficiencia profesional analiza el manejo agronómico del algodón híbrido Hazera HA-1432, desarrollado por la empresa Hazera Seeds Ltd. de Israel, y su comportamiento bajo las condiciones edafoclimáticas del departamento de Lambayeque. En un contexto marcado por la preocupante disminución de las áreas algodoneras en el Perú atribuida principalmente a la baja tecnificación y a los rendimientos inconsistentes, este estudio propone el uso de algodones híbridos como una estrategia clave para mejorar la productividad del cultivo en la costa norte. El documento detalla las prácticas técnicas necesarias para maximizar el potencial de este nuevo híbrido de algodón Hazera HA-1432, el cual se encuentra debidamente inscrito en el Registro de Cultivares Comerciales del INIA. A lo largo del trabajo, se examinan labores fundamentales como la preparación del suelo mediante subsolado, la densidad adecuada, riegos oportunos, la fertilización balanceada, uso de reguladores y el control fitosanitario preventivo, elementos determinantes para garantizar el éxito del cultivar. Los datos obtenidos en los ensayos y campañas evaluadas evidencian que el híbrido Hazera HA-1432 logra rendimientos superiores a los 90 qq/ha, superando los promedios obtenidos con las variedades convencionales empleadas tradicionalmente en la región. Se concluye que, al integrar una genética superior con un manejo agronómico adecuado, es posible mejorar la rentabilidad del productor lambayecano y recuperar la competitividad del algodón peruano en el mercado. Este trabajo, por tanto, representa un aporte técnico orientado a incentivar la adopción de nuevas tecnologías que permitan transformar la agricultura regional hacia un modelo más eficiente y sostenible.
This professional proficiency report analyzes the agronomic management of the hybrid cotton Hazera HA-1432, developed by the Israeli company Hazera Seeds Ltd, and its performance under the soil and climatic conditions of the department of Lambayeque. In a context marked by a concerning decline in cotton-growing areas in Peru—mainly attributed to low levels of modernization and inconsistent yields—this study proposes the use of hybrid cottons as a key strategy to improve crop productivity on the northern coast. The document details the technical practices required to maximize the potential of this new hybrid cotton, Hazera HA-1432, which is duly registered in INIA's Registry of Commercial Cultivars. Throughout this work, fundamental tasks are examined, such as soil preparation through subsoiling, adequate planting density, timely irrigation, balanced fertilization, the use of growth regulators, and preventive phytosanitary control—all of which are decisive factors in guaranteeing the cultivar's success. The data obtained from the evaluated trials and campaigns demonstrate that the Hazera HA-1432 hybrid achieves yields exceeding 90 qq/ha (quintals per hectare), surpassing the averages obtained with conventional varieties traditionally used in the region. It is concluded that by integrating superior genetics with proper agronomic management, it is possible to improve the profitability of farmers in Lambayeque and restore the competitiveness of Peruvian cotton in the market. Therefore, this work represents a technical contribution aimed at encouraging the adoption of new technologies that can transform regional agriculture toward a more efficient and sustainable model.
