Abstract
In the Experimental Agricultural Field of the National Agrarian University la Molina, the components of yield and grain quality in reventón-type corn hybrids (Zea mays) were evaluated, with the objective of determining the genotypes with the best production characteristics under conditions of Central Coast. The trials were set up using a simple 7x7 lattice design, with two repetitions and 49 treatments. The experimental plots were made up of 1 row of 2 meters with 33 plants, 3 plants per plot spaced at 20 and 80 centimeters between rows.Statistical differences were found in the variables ear length, number of rows per ear, number of grains per row, average weight of the ears, average weight of grains per ear, weight of 100 seeds and yield. The treatments that demonstrated acceptable grain quality of all the material evaluated under Central Coast conditions were hybrids T47, T26, T37 and T48. Treatments T47, T26, T12, T43, T34, T7 and T41 obtained large rosettes, pleasant flavor, crunchy and light.
