Abstract
El estudio tuvo como objetivo agrupar cuarenta especies maderables comerciales del Perú utilizando el sistema de medición de colores CIELAB. Se cuantificaron los parámetros colorimétricos: luminosidad (L*), eje verde-rojo (a*), eje amarillo-azul (b*), chroma (C) y ángulo tinta (H) en condición seca al aire, comparando las variaciones de color en los planos tangenciales y radiales. La mayoría de las especies se ubicaron en el primer cuadrante del espacio CIELAB, mostrando una alta graduación entre mayor luminosidad y mayor tonalidad amarilla (L* y b*), mientras que el parámetro a* presentó menor variación. Para evaluar la influencia del plano de corte, se aplicó el índice de Gini, encontrando que especies como Hymenaea oblongifolia, Brosimum alicastrum y Copaifera paupera presentaron diferencias significativas entre planos. La colorimetría en el plano tangencial mostró mayor capacidad para diferenciar las especies. Mediante el análisis de conglomerados, se proponen ocho conglomerados significativos con sus respectivos rangos de parámetros colorimétricos, agrupando especies con características colorimétricas similares en el plano tangencial.
The study aimed to group forty commercial timber species from Peru using the CIELAB color measurement system. The colorimetric parameters were quantified: lightness (L*), green-red axis (a*), yellow-blue axis (b*), chroma (C), and hue angle (H) in air-dry conditions, comparing color variations in the tangential and radial planes. Most species were located in the first quadrant of the CIELAB space, showing a strong correlation between higher lightness and increased yellow tones (L* and b*), while the a* parameter exhibited less variation. To assess the influence of the cutting plane, the Gini index was applied, revealing that species such as Hymenaea oblongifolia, Brosimum alicastrum and Copaifera paupera showed significant differences between planes. Colorimetry in the tangential plane demonstrated a greater ability to differentiate species. Through cluster analysis, eight significant clusters were proposed, each with specific ranges of colorimetric parameters, grouping species with similar colorimetric characteristics in the tangential plane.
