Implementación de la certificación Rainforest Alliance en los cultivos de palto (Persea americana) y mango (Mangifera indica) para exportación

Abstract

Se describen las características del programa de certificación Rainforest Alliance, como un sistema de certificación de agricultura sostenible en los fundos de la costa norte del Perú dedicados a la producción de palta y mango para la exportación. El sistema de certificación Rainforest Alliance incluye temas sociales, agronómicos, ambientales y de responsabilidad compartida. La evaluación de cada tema que compone el programa de certificación se encuentra vinculada a las leyes y reglamentos del país. El autor de la presente monografía, mediante la experiencia en auditorías realizadas a las exportadoras de mango y palto de la costa norte, bajo el programa de certificación mencionado, describe la situación de los fundos antes de obtener la certificación y los beneficios al crear un sistema de gestión que trabaja con el objetivo de acceder al programa de certificación, tales como: Contribuir a la agricultura sostenible, incentivar el conocimiento y aplicación de las normas legales nacionales, reconocimiento por medio de pagos diferenciados por certificación, bienestar social al cumplir con las legislaciones aplicables.It describes the characteristics of the Rainforest Alliance certification program as a sustainable agriculture certification system in farms on the north coast of Peru dedicated to the production of avocado and mango for export. The Rainforest Alliance certification system includes social, agronomic, environmental and shared responsibility issues.
