Abstract
En este estudio, se planteó como meta principal analizar el desempeño de 169 híbridos simples de maíz amarillo duro bajo las circunstancias del distrito de Supe, en la provincia de Barranca. El material genético estuvo constituido por 166 híbridos simples experimentales y 3 híbridos comerciales usados como testigos. La distancia de siembra fue a 80 cm entre surcos y a 30 cm entre golpes y dos plantas por golpe. El experimento se instaló de acuerdo con el diseño de Latice Simple 13*13 con 169 tratamientos y 2 repeticiones. Se evaluaron ocho características cuantitativas: Floración masculina (C1), altura de planta (C2), diámetro del tallo (C3), coeficiente de establecimiento (C4), prolificidad (C5), peso de 5 mazorcas (C6), rendimiento de grano (C7) y humedad de grano (C8). Con los resultados se calcularon el promedio general, así como los valores máximo y mínimo por característica estudiada. Finalmente se concluyó que el 95 % de los híbridos experimentales tuvieron mayor rendimiento en grano que el promedio nacional, asimismo el hibrido experimental H-16 tuvo el mejor rendimiento de grano similar al mejor testigo comercial.
This study aimed to analyze the performance of 169 single-cross hybrids of yellow dent maize under the conditions of the Supe district in the province of Barranca. The genetic material consisted of 166 experimental single-cross hybrids and 3 commercial hybrids used as controls. Planting distances were 80 cm between rows and 30 cm between planting holes, with two plants per hole. The experiment was set up according to a 13x13 simple lattice design with 169 treatments and 2 replications. Eight quantitative traits were evaluated: male flowering (C1), plant height (C2), stalk diameter (C3), establishment coefficient (C4), prolificacy (C5), weight of 5 ears (C6), grain yield (C7), and grain moisture (C8). The overall average, as well as the maximum and minimum values for each trait, were calculated. Finally, it was concluded that 95% of the experimental hybrids had higher grain yield than the national average, and the experimental hybrid H-16 had the best grain yield, like the best commercial control.
