Abstract
In the present work the analysis of the dry and humid conditions was carried out in the period between December 2015 and March 2016. Atmospheric conditions favored a short period of surplus of rains in the month of February, however, for the rest of the summer, there was rainfall deficiency. In the analysis of the meteorological conditions in the synoptic scale, it was found that for the month of February, low pressure systems predominated along the coast, which allowed low flows from the north (850-700 hPa) coming from the equatorial region that transported humid air, which increased the total precipitable water content in the western slope of the southern highlands. In addition, it was observed that synoptic circulation patterns at medium and high levels were favorable for rainfall in short periods of time (weeks), such as good circulation of Bolivia's Upper and eastern flows. In contrast, western flows predominated during periods of low rainfall
