Abstract
The present research was carried out in the Chira valley, district of Tamarindo, province of Paita, Piura, under conditions of indirect sowing system (transplantation), vegetative and reproductive growth of ten promising rice lines selected by the "Research and Social Projection Program for Native Cereals and Grains of the National Agricultural University La Molina" was studied in comparison with two commercial witnesses, "Tinajones" and "La Puntilla". The genotype was used as a study factor and treatments were arranged in the field using a complete random block design. Through the experiment, it was found that promising lines PALM 25 - 50 - 5 - 3 -5 and PALM 52 - 91 - 6 - 4 - 2 - 2 presented higher grain yields compared to other commercial lines and cultivars, with 16.33 t ha-1 and 16.09 t ha-1 , respectively. As for the yield components; the evaluated promising lines showed statistically higher number of total grains per panicle, higher number of grains filled per panicle and greater weight of one thousand grains than the "Tinajones" and "La Puntilla" samples. As for the harvest rate, no significant differences between treatments were clearly shown. In relation to the analysis of milling quality, mill yield showed no significant differences; however, PALM 52 - 91 - 6 - 4 - 2 line had higher yield with 71.3 %. In the percentage of whole grain, no noticeable statistical difference was found; However, the PALM lines 52 - 91 - 6 - 4 - 2 - 2 and "La Puntilla" had higher values compared to other treatments
