Abstract
Peruvian women entrepreneurs face several challenges that limit their growth and business development. These challenges became more acute after the health crisis of 2020. Among the main obstacles, gender gaps were identified, which generate less access to training, mainly due to responsibilities at home; financial inclusion also represents a challenge, as gaps were identified at the level of financial services, due to the difficulty of access to credit due to the lack of guarantees, and the risk of generating power relations with the partner due to the requirement of guarantees by banks; the digital gap is another challenge, given the limited access to the Internet and digital tools, especially in vulnerable households. Despite the obstacles, women entrepreneurs represent a significant percentage of entrepreneurship in the country, but the gaps presented put them at a disadvantage. In light of this situation, the Emprende App Initiative project was created to develop Máxima, a mobile application that provides financial education and business skills to vulnerable women entrepreneurs. The application was developed using agile, human-centered methodologies that sought to build a prototype through trial and error, test it until it became a minimum viable product, and then continue with a process of continuous improvement to establish a product scaling strategy. In conclusion, the application mainly seeks to empower women entrepreneurs, who play a fundamental role in the country's entrepreneurship, promote economic inclusion by reducing gender, financial and digital gaps, and strengthen women's entrepreneurial skills. In this sense, Máxima represents an innovative tool to address the challenges faced by Peruvian women entrepreneurs and contribute to their economic inclusion.
