Abstract
El turismo en la represa San José de Uzuña ha crecido exponencialmente a partir del año 2017, cuando la comunidad campesina de Polobaya decide implementar una serie de servicios y actividades turísticas en la represa para disfrute de los visitantes respondiendo a sus necesidades. Así el número de visitantes se fue incrementando incluso en el período de la pandemia en el año 2020, por las motivaciones de búsqueda de espacios abiertos cercanos a la ciudad. Esta investigación buscó determinar las condiciones de la oferta turística existente en la represa San José de Uzuña y la percepción de los pobladores de la comunidad frente al desarrollo del ecoturismo, como una posibilidad de entender a la represa como recurso interpretativo para sensibilizar acerca de la importancia del agua, del ecosistema lacustre, flora y fauna y servicios ecosistémicos. Se utilizó un diseño no experimental. La muestra estuvo conformada por 168 comuneros pertenecientes a la Comunidad Campesina de Polobaya, seleccionados aleatoriamente, a los que se les aplicó una encuesta, además se realizaron visitas al área de estudio para aplicar las fichas técnicas de recojo de información, así como instrumentos de registro gráfico y la aplicación de entrevistas, encuestas y fichas de observación. La oferta turística actual en la represa consiste en paseo en botes, observación de truchas en piscigranja, pesca deportiva, kayak y servicio de alimentación en el restaurante de la comunidad. Luego de explicar qué es el ecoturismo al momento de aplicar la encuesta a cada participante, se tuvo como resultado unánime en las preguntas del cuestionario el interés de implementar el ecoturismo en la represa como herramienta de interpretación ambiental, que valorice la flora y fauna local, así como el paisaje y eduque a los visitantes cobre el cuidado de estos recursos durante su visita.
