Abstract
El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo describir y analizar las prácticas de manejo agronómico aplicadas al cultivo de palto (Persea americana Mill.) variedad Hass en las condiciones de Nazca, Ica. Para ello se detallaron metodologías implementadas desde la instalación del cultivo hasta la cosecha; abarcando la evaluación y selección de los plantones, podas, riego, fertilización, monitoreo fenológico, manejo fitosanitario y análisis de costos. La densidad de plantación fue de 416 plantas por hectárea incorporando un 5% de polinizantes (variedad Zutano). Dentro de las técnicas de evaluación usadas incluyó el uso de rizotrones para seguimiento del desarrollo radicular, análisis foliar para los ajustes nutricionales, monitoreos semanales para la detección de plagas y enfermedades, seguimiento de la humedad a través de instrumentos de medición y calicatas para optimizar los riegos, las evaluaciones fenológicas que permitieron ajustar el manejo del cultivo a las necesidades de cada etapa. Se presenta además una descripción de las labores realizadas por edad de cultivo y lo que se implementó en cada una de ellas. El análisis económico permitió identificar los costos directos e indirectos involucrados en cada fase del cultivo. En conclusión, una adecuada planificación agronómica basada en un monitoreo constante y adaptado a las condiciones locales permite optimizar los rendimientos y mejora la rentabilidad del cultivo en la zona.
The objective of this work was to describe and analyze the agronomic management practices applied to the cultivation of avocado (Persea americana Mill.), Hass variety, under the conditions of Nazca, Ica. To this end, methodologies implemented from crop establishment to harvest were detailed, covering plantlet evaluation and selection, pruning, irrigation, fertilization, phenological monitoring, phytosanitary management, and cost analysis. The planting density was 416 plants per hectare, incorporating 5% pollinizers (Zutano variety). The evaluation techniques used included the use of rhizotrons for monitoring root development, foliar analysis for nutritional adjustments, weekly monitoring for pest and disease detection, moisture tracking using measuring instruments and soil pits to optimize irrigation, and phenological assessments that allowed management practices to be adjusted to the specific needs of each crop stage. Additionally, a description is provided of the agronomic tasks performed according to crop age and the specific management applied in each phase. The economic analysis identified both direct and indirect costs involved in each stage of the production process. In conclusion, proper agronomic planning, based on constant monitoring and adapted to local conditions, allows for the optimization of yields and improves the profitability of avocado cultivation in the region.
